With Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio intensively deploying 5G networks acros India, the 5G subscribers in the nation increased from 10 million in 2022 to 119 million by the end of last year.
Communications Service Providers (CSPs) are increasingly utilizing 5G networks to provide Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services, as stated in the Ericsson Mobility report. 241 of the 310 CPs that were sampled globally for the study stated that they would be offering fixed wireless access services based on 5G as of April 2024. From 2022 to 2023, it appears that approximately 128 of these are providing FWA services, representing a growth of 29 percent.
It appears that global network providers are primarily utilizing 5G networks to provide Fixed Wireless Access and Enhanced Mode Broadband. However, only 50 of the 300 CSPs worldwide are utilizing standalone 5G networks, indicating that the majority have not yet fully utilized the network's capabilities.
