The month-long programme, called AI Odyssey, will impart developers comprehensive learning on AI technologies aligned with business goals and outcomes to enable them to execute critical projects, the company said in a statement, as per economic times.
“With AI revolutionizing the way we work and live, India needs a skilled workforce that can use AI to solve complex problems and create value,” Microsoft said. “Through programs like AI Odyssey, Microsoft is offering opportunities for developers to build solutions for India’s growth and showcase their talent to solve real-world problems.”
The Redmond, Washington-based IT giant has been advocating for increased AI usage in the country.
Microsoft India President Puneet Chandok stated that developing 'AI fluency' in the country was a top focus. According to Chandok, Microsoft will collaborate with the government in 2024 to teach 3 million government officers in AI fluency.
The corporation previously cooperated with Nasscom, the tech industry's apex body, on the Futureskills program to train one million students in AI.
“AI is the future of innovation and India is leading the way with its tech talent,” said Microsoft India managing director Irina Ghose. “We welcome all developers to join us in creating meaningful AI solutions that will contribute to India's economy.”
The two-tier AI Odyssey program includes a portion on how to use Microsoft's Azure AI services to design and deploy AI solutions in real-world scenarios, as well as tools and coding examples.
The second level includes an online evaluation that allows learners to acquire Microsoft Applied Skills certificates.
