Red Hat, Inc. and Tech Mahindra have collaborated to help telecommunications service providers accelerate and manage the adoption and deployment of 5G across hybrid cloud environments. Through Tech Mahindra’s Multi-mode Companion Cloud, which runs on Red Hat OpenShift deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS), multiple network use cases can be supported spanning RAN, edge computing, transport, and 5G core. This extends the capabilities across hybrid cloud environments with integrated automation and orchestration capabilities.
As service providers embrace the hybrid cloud model to provide more dependable and available 5G services, computing resources and data are distributed across core data centers, at the edge, and in the cloud. In light of this, service providers are seeking ways to reduce the intricacy of managing and securing workloads across these diverse environments.
Tech Mahindra's Multi-mode Companion Cloud is a solution that helps service providers to seamlessly transfer their on-premises workloads to hybrid cloud environments, such as Red Hat OpenShift on-premises and AWS. This effectively increases scalability, speeds up cloud migrations, and simplifies managing 5G services via a centralized orchestrator and integrated automation capabilities. Red Hat OpenShift provides a consistent infrastructure and application layer that supports operations at scale across any cloud environment. To manage infrastructure and automate applications with zero-touch provisioning, Tech Mahindra's netOps.ai offers a single-pane-of-glass view.
Managing a variety of next-generation services across hybrid cloud environments requires extensive automation capabilities to be efficient and effective. The partnership between Red Hat and Tech Mahindra provides service providers with the necessary automation for managing the hybrid cloud seamlessly. This automation spans from the core data center to the edge and AWS, enabling intelligent workload placement and better cloud lifecycle management.
